NexGard® is a monthly systemic ectoparasiticide for dogs containing afoxolaner, an active ingredient from the isoxazoline class. After oral administration, afoxolaner is absorbed systemically and acts against susceptible ectoparasites that feed on the treated dog.
It is primarily used for the treatment and control of flea and tick infestations and, where included in the approved product label, may also be indicated for selected mite infestations. Its systemic activity provides reliable ectoparasite control without the need for topical application.
Each chewable tablet contains Afoxolaner 136 mg and is specifically formulated for dogs weighing 25–50 kg. The braised beef-flavored chewable formulation is designed for convenient administration, helping support owner compliance with regular monthly flea and tick control.
