Heartgard® Plus is a monthly oral antiparasitic and anthelmintic for dogs, combining ivermectin, a macrocyclic lactone, with pyrantel, a tetrahydropyrimidine anthelmintic. This combination provides targeted protection against heartworm disease together with control of important intestinal nematodes.

Ivermectin is used for the prevention of canine heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis by eliminating susceptible larval stages acquired during the preceding month. Pyrantel provides activity against common intestinal worms, particularly roundworms and hookworms, according to the approved product label.

Each chewable contains Ivermectin 272 mcg + Pyrantel 227 mg and is formulated for large dogs weighing approximately 23–45 kg. The palatable chewable formulation supports convenient once-monthly administration and helps simplify long-term heartworm prevention and intestinal parasite control.
