Description
Canine Babesia gibsoni Antibody Test
Vet Diagnostix BAB Rapid Test is a qualitative rapid test designed to detect antibodies against Babesia gibsoni in canine blood samples. It provides a convenient screening tool for canine patients with suspected babesiosis, particularly those presenting with anemia, thrombocytopenia, fever, weakness, lethargy, or a history of tick exposure.
Because this is an antibody test, a positive result indicates an immune response or previous exposure to Babesia gibsoni and should be interpreted together with clinical findings and other diagnostic tests.
Detection:
Babesia gibsoni – Antibody
Sample type: Whole blood, serum, or plasma
Species: Canine
Test format: Rapid test
Result: Qualitative
Use: Screening for antibodies against Babesia gibsoni
For veterinary diagnostic use only. A positive antibody result does not by itself confirm active infection. Clinical correlation and confirmatory testing such as PCR may be indicated.
