When it comes to vaccination, consistency, coverage, and context all matter.
For Boehringer Ingelheim users in the Philippines—especially in areas prone to leptospirosis—here’s a recommended protocol that maximizes both safety and protection.
Vaccines are developed with specific adjuvants, stabilizers, and antigen presentations unique to their manufacturer.
Mixing brands may not always provide synergistic immune responses and could potentially affect potency.
That’s why sticking with one brand for a full primary series is preferred.
(Assuming the use of Recombitek line + Rabies and Kennel Cough vaccines)
Week 6:
Recombitek C6 CV
(C6 = CDV, CAV-2, CPV, CPiV, Lepto (2 serovars), CV = Canine Coronavirus)
Week 9:
Recombitek C8
(Broader leptospira coverage: includes 4-way Lepto)
Week 12:
Recombitek C8
Rabisin (Rabies)
Week 15:
Recombitek C8 (final core booster)
Kennel Cough (Recombitek Oral Bordetella)
6 Months Old:
Booster with Recombitek C8
Rabisin
Kennel Cough
Yearly Thereafter:
Rabisin
Optional: Recombitek C8 (for high-risk environments)
Optional: Kennel Cough (for social or travel-prone dogs)
Not typically.
Canine Coronavirus (CV) tends to be mild and is considered a non-core vaccine.
If included in the initial series like in Recombitek C6 CV, no booster is generally needed unless in a kennel outbreak situation.
This protocol is ideal for vets who want:
